Schwannoma is a relatively uncommon tumor of the nerve sheath and is rare in the foot. The lesion is almost always benign, but when a major nerve is involved, parasthesia and anesthesia may result. In addition, the unlikely appearance of multiple schwannoma may signal the onset of von Recklinghausen's disease.
